What are the side effects of testosterone shots? I started a anabolic steroid regimin for diabetes problems and a week after my first shot, my feet and ankles and lower legs are extremely swollen. Its the weekend so I dont have my doctor to ask. Could the swelling come from the shots. I have no other ideas.

Mike J replied: "What are these shots for? I'm diabetic, I would love to have medically prescribed steroids. If the problem is neuropathy, the drug is to increase circulation to your extremities, reducing neuropathy, you know when you don't have feeling in your hands and feet. That's the worst. Exercise to avoid that."

If I'm dissatisfied with the pitch of my voice, would taking a few Rx testosterone shots work? I've taken some voice training and therapy, which has helped me to lower my pitch somewhat, but I still have trouble being overheard when I go out to loud places like a club, football game, party, etc. My voice pitch is around the alto range, and I think it would be easier to speak and not wear my voice out if my vocal cords were larger i.e. by taking a few controlled pre ion testosterone shots. When I'm in a loud place, just to be heard, I have to raise my voice almost the entire time so that the next day I am almost always hoarse. Yes, I realize the side effects of testosterone shots (potential to gain breat tissue, smaller testes...), but that's why I would have a doctor monitor the situation. Has testosterone worked for anyone else, or do you think it would work?

bmac replied: "No doctor is going to prescribe testosterone injections to change the pitch of your voice. You sound young-----guys are not done growing until they're 21-22. So if you're younger than that, you are still on puberty. If you are over 22, then that is the way your voice will be. You can try taking speech therapy. Check for classes in your county."

Avodart or Proscar side effect, Decreased Libido. How do you treat it? Can you take extra testosterone? My husband is on Avodart or Proscar so his sex drive has been really diminished. now according to the Avodart instructions it says "How Does Avodart Work? Avodart works by blocking the conversion of testosterone into DHT (dihydrotestosterone), thereby decreasing the amount of DHT in the body. Since DHT is responsible for enlarging the prostate, using Avodart to decrease DHT levels can treat an enlarged prostate. So wanted to know if he could take Testosterone supplements to pump up his sex drive again. But if the conversion of testosterone into DHT, is the cause for prostate inflamation, I'm not sure if he took extra Testosterone supplements/shots, if that would make his prostate bigger too? According to what I checked, it is not testosterone that causes the prostate to swell, but the DHT that testosterone is converted to. Anybody have any experiece with this and is this possible ? Viagra only gives men erections, it does not increase the libido, so that is not an option. He has a swollen prostate so his doctor put him on Avodart and Proscar, which appear to be working for his prostate, but it killed his sex drive. He has to keep taking the medication, but he was wondering if he could take Testosterone therapy to increase his sex drive, but we are not sure if that will negate the beneficial effects of the Avodart/ proscar he is taking? If avodart blocks the conversion of testosterone to DHT, then it shouldn't matter if you increase the overall testosterone in a man's body would it? I thought the Avodart is not to stop the production of testosterone, it's just to stop it from converting to DHT isnt it?

claziano replied: "Very complicated situation, Suzy.. My advice would be to try testosterone replacement therapy. If you can afford it, complete hormone replacement therapy (including HGH). My feeling is that the added testosterone may help his libido while the proscar/avodart keeps the DHT from affecting his prostate... All you can do is try it and see if that works.. I think it will.."

Since the aim is to shift you to a more normal hormonal balance I would expect little in the way of side effects, but I am not a doc.... You can look up the mfgr's website and see what they say."

sustanon with deca durabolin for one cycle or no? im in the middle of completing a cycle (4 weeks) of deca durabolin steroid and the results and overwhelming. i have been suggested to take sustanon with it so my sex drive doesnt go down but susta being 4 different types of testosterones, has a lots of side effects. has anyone used or know if its okay to complete cycle just on deca as this is all i am going to do.dont plan on taking any more shots. is there anything else i can take with deca for even better results? i have taken 2 shots of 75 mgs each of deca durabolin so far and i have 2 to go. any suggestions? if i should take susta...whats the safe amount so avoid all the side effects from sustanon?

Khrysty replied: "Actually a birth control pill would completely correct the problem. It's a combination of too much testosterone and too little estrogen. A combination pill (a pill with estrogen and progesterone) would regulate her hormones and you should see the facial hair decrease and the muscle begin to slender itself out. The side effects would be exactly what's warned on the birth control package. I'd suggest taking her to a gynecologist and asking what they suggest."
