Tramadol......????? Tramadol Hydrochloride - Tramadol Pain relief.. I have been using Tramadol for many years now for pain management. Tramadol Ultram has been a godsend. I need a new Tramadol pre ion. I have recently lost my job and insurance. Is it possible to buy tramadol online? Where can I order Tramadol online?

kinacl replied: "I'm a nurse. I would talk to your doctor about samples of another medication or you could get on the precription assistance program. Your doctor has all the paper work you need for this process."

bmac replied: "No. It's a narcotic and you do need a pre ion. A REAL one from a real doctor. Believe me....the DEA watches those online pharmacies and you WILL be caught trying to send a fake pre ion to them. It is a felony. NOT worth it. If you have no insurance and have no job, then you are indigent. Contact your county's department of social services. If this is the truth, they will get you seen by a doctor for free. If your condition warrants the pre ion you can get it that way."

Dr. Wassef replied: "what kind of pain which need this drug 4 years????? stop it seek medical attention 4 both the pain + tramadol"

Rose Bridge replied: "try to get alternative one .. it will damage ur stomach as u said for years .. take care ... and also there are many helpful medicine better than it ."

What is the lenght of time that is safe to use Tramadol for pain/ headaches ? I get pretty bad chronic headaches and migraines sometimes ...they get worse w stress so the Tramadol really helps but i try not to take it often...what is the max you can take per week? i usually just try to stay at 4 -5 pills a week. I tried different preventative meds but they dont work...i was on Topamax two yrs ago and just lost alot of weight thats it no help w headaches.

mlgable replied: "You can take up to 3 pills every day. If you have that many headaches though you need to go back to your neurologist and see about trying some preventative medicine to help prevent the headaches or at least lessen the number you get and the severity. Go back to your neurologist soon for preventative meds."

How long do tramadol withdrawal symptoms last? I stopped using tramadol cold turkey (after heavy use for about a month) about 3 and a half weeks ago and I have no more actual "withdrawals" but I still feel severly depressed. I was not nearly this depressed before I started using tramadol. The week after I stopped I had thoughts of suicide, the depression was so bad. So how much longer is this depression supposed to last? Anyone have any insight on this?

Max replied: "Tramadol is an opiate painkiller that is a derivative of heroin. It is a very difficult addiction to break, which is why so many people stay hooked. I'm not saying you are addicted, but it sounds like physically you were dependent upon the drug. The acute withdrawal usually lasts no more than a week, but mentally can last much longer. There is what is called PAW (post acute withdrawal) which for long-term users can last up to a year. Since you were only using a month, I would say you should start feeling better very soon. Basically you are flooding your system with a drug that makes you feel good. Your body gets used to it and needs it to feel normal. When you remove that, things get thrown out of whack. Congrats on quitting and good luck to you. It will get better, I promise."

why does the VA insist on using tramadol for everything even when it is a useless drug, that has no benefits ? but many downfalls. one being addiction of the drug itself, two being it's a category c drug which woman take their own chances if they take it while pregnant or breast feeding. why is this drug still used? and why are other drugs that are addicted considered EVIL even if someone needs them to live a normal productive life? who made these rediculous laws? I take no more than my prescribed amount of that stupid medication, no more but definatly sometimes less. yes i have a physical addiction to it, but that worries me not i've gotten off of it plenty of times on my own, my concern is why give one addictive substance that doesn't work and not another one that does? that was my point, I don't need lectured by some NA AA goodbody who wants to clean up the world. now if anyone can answer the REAL question asked I'd like to hear ur answer.

mariko m replied: "Drug addiction can be hard to control. Many everyday people have lost jobs, homes, family, friends, and loved ones simply because they could not break thier drug habit. I suggest you find some help. I found a site that has addiction information and a directory of addiction treatment clinics so you can help. Live strong"

I use tramadol for pain relief. When it is time for the next dose I get nauseated, is that normal? I know it is not supposed to be habit forming but it sure acts like it is.

rialc replied: "Tramadol (also known as Ultram) is a potentially habit forming drug. You should be concerned, but not overly so. See here for more information:"

Can long term use tramadol/paracetamol affect the liver? I take 5 tablets of 37.5mg tramadol and 500mg paracetamol daily for a year now and am worried I may be damaging my liver. Does anyone know is I am right? THANKS

DynoDiKk replied: "Well the Tramadol is what you need to be worried about. This stuff is harder to get off of than conventional opiates. It is a mild anti-depressant and a mild opiate, google Ultram sucks and read. Tylenol is 4,000 a day max, not to take more than 1,000 in a single dose. Your fine. Your taking 2,500mg's a day. DO not drink alcohol with Tylenol. What do you try to get off that Tramadol. And they really don't know the long term effects of Tramadol yet. It has not been around that long."

Scott replied: "Don't know if you are right but I would seek medical help. I accidently overdosed on paracetamol and was taken to hospital last year. I only took the doses stated on the packet and that was only 5 days!! I was told every body is different and different side effects may occur. If you take it daily, think of yourself and look after yourself, finding the underlying cause. Take care"

Has anyone used Tramadol on their dogs? I just got back from the vets office. The vet prescribed Tramadol Liquid, for my 6 pound Chihuahua, because of a bad leg, and told me to give her 0.5 ML orally twice a day. I gave her 0.5 ML at 1:00 p.m. and she's sleeping now. Does Tramadol make them drowsy? Has anyone had any bad reactions in their dogs, from taking Tramadol, that I should look for or be aware of in mine? Did it help your dog and how? Thanks! B N! That comment you made, was very unnecessary, heartless and cruel. As far as I'm concerned, you can take it, and shove it up your little ...!

Madison replied: "Tramadol will make the dog drowsy so until he gets used to the medicine, he will probably be sleeping a lot. The only side effect I know of is VERY RARE and really only happens if you give the dog too much of the medicine at one time- which is seizures, so just make sure you give the directed dose and write on your calender or on a piece of paper on the fridge what time and day you gave it to the dog- that way you keep track and don't accidently give an extra dose. Most animals do not have any side effects from the medicine, but sometimes an upset stomach can occur. Here is a link to more about it- I always like to look up what my dog is taking to make sure: Also, if your dog is under severe sedation- like cannot be woken up with a simple shake- you should contact the vet. I really wouldn't worry about it though because side effects are rare with this medicine."

Jennifer replied: "I don't know about using it on dogs, but I'm prescribed Tramadol for chronic pain from a ruptured disc in my back. I know it makes some humans sleepy, so I would imagine it would make a little chihuahua very sleepy. I would watch his breathing, just to make sure the doseage isn't too strong for him. If he seems like he's struggling to breathe, or his breaths aren't deep enough, call the vet. In humans, taking too much Tramadol can cause breathing issues."

sheloves_dablues replied: "My dalmation was prescribed Tramadol for pain, as Metacam gave him diahrrea. He was exhibiting obvious pain behaviour, but we couldn't determine the cause. It made him really wonky.. You could tell just by looking at him that he was "doped" up. I worried that he was going to fall asleep standing up! But it worked.. He had three doses, and the next day was moving around again beautifully."

arbonne_boxer_bullie_lover replied: "Tramadol will make your dog sleepy. like any other medications you have to make sure your dog has some food with it, if you over dose or give too much it can affect the liver. Tramadol helped a lot. didn't need it after a while, but, be careful on how much u give, and just watch for anything that may seem like an allergic reaction, like itching, or any breathing problems."

Gina C replied: "Hi, I too take Tramadol for chronic pain and it makes me sleepy and kinda dopes me up so I imagine it would have the same affect on your Chi. It helps me alot though, I hope it helps your girl too. The suggestion about logging dosage times is excellent. That way if there is a siezure or another reaction you can pinpoint it quickly should Dr ask. Also to the A-hole that said arsenic, that was just plain mean and as far as I am concerned you should be reported. I'll never understand why people on here have to be like that, don't you guys have anything better to do with your time??? Hope your Chi gets to feeling better soon. Best wishes!"

angelkist04@verizon.net replied: "I don't know about using Tramadol with a dog but I use it daily for severe back and hip pain and it does cause drowsiness. This is just a side effect and as your pet adjusts to the medication, the effects should lessen. I hope this is helpful"

Pat Shepherd replied: "I lost one of my German Shepherds a few months ago & the vet had him on Tramadol for two weeks prior to his death! It did help relieve the pain so that he could rest! Good Luck to you!"

george b replied: "Must have been a pretty bad leg injury. Tramadol is a morphine based drug with a strong sedative in it. Yes thats how they act, the whole point is to alleviate pain and keep them immobile. continue as prescribed. I know there expensive but shes undoubtably in pain or the vet would`nt have prescribed that."

Can long-term use of tramadol cause numbness and tingling of fingers and hands? For the past six months, I have been having tingling and numbness in the fingers of both hands. It has gotten to the point that it is hard to type (I am a tran ionist) and even write. I was tested for carpal tunnel, which was negative. I have been taking 25 to 50 mg of tramadol / Ultram a day for approximately 6 years. Does anyone know if this medication could cause this problem and if so, will it get better in time? I appreciate any advice

Dr.Mojo M replied: "Hi, The possible side effects and care to be taken are Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Stop using tramadol and call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects: seizure (convulsions); a red, blistering, peeling skin rash; or shallow breathing, weak pulse. Less serious side effects may include: dizziness, drowsiness, weakness; nausea, vomiting, constipation, loss of appetite; blurred vision; flushing (redness, warmth, or tingly feeling); or sleep problems (insomnia). This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Tell your doctor about any unusual or bothersome side effect."

Can Tramadol be potentiated by using the certain substances such as Diphenhydramine or Promethazine? I understand that opiates such as Hydrocodone, Morphine, and Oxycodone can have their effects increased by using certain chemicals such as the ones I named in my question. Would this method still apply to Tramadol, it being a synthetic analouge of codeine? This isn't for abuse purposes, but for the desire to take less medication on a daily basis, due to the overall effects being increased. Thank you very much my friends.

dbdb1275 replied: "Yes it can, even though it is a synthetic it acts the same as other opiates and will interact or react with most other drugs. You have probably already been told that tramadol is not safe for long term use so please be careful (however not many of the strong pain meds are) Tramadol is not reccomended for use with other drugs like morphine. I know you would like to reduce the amount of medication your on so perhaps morphine patches could help? Good luck : -)"

Can Tramadol be used as an injectable for dogs? My dog is on Tramadol, but it's next to impossible to get her to take it. I know it can be injected in humans, can it also be injected in dogs?

bob replied: "its possible, but you would need to ask your vet."

jessy replied: "Yes there is. Have you ever tried putting the tramadol in the middle of a hot dog? a scoop of ice cream? peanut butter? Injectable pain killers are alot more money than the pills. You should call your vet and talk to him about the options. You might be able to find something easier. Or cheaper that will do the same things."

grinninh replied: "Your vet is not going to give you an injectable drug. Liability reasons will prevent them from do it. Tramadol is bitter but dogs usually will eat it if its in a pill pocket. Pill pockets can be obtained at the pet store or your vet. Hiding it in cream cheese, butter or a piece of meat may also work but first try the pill pockets."
